Max Hauptman is a writer and journalist based in Washington, D.C. He has previously covered the military and veteran community for Task & Purpose, written for The Washington Post, and covered everything from breaking news to business to blueberries in eastern Hancock County for The Ellsworth American. His work has appeared in Buyouts Insider and Narratively. He received his MS from Columbia Graduate Journalism School, with a focus on radio reporting and narrative writing.
Max grew up in Brooklyn, graduated from West Point with a degree in International Relations, and served for six years as an Army officer. In his spare time he enjoys climbing, scuba diving, and being being disappointed by New York Mets baseball.
